Rite of Passage

Our daughter lost her first ever tooth tonight! With her 7th birthday one week away, she was beginning to think it would never happen. She was positively elated, and as proud as if she had just given birth. Here is the message she put under her pillow for the tooth fairy:
"Dear tooth fairy,
Can I ceep my tooth.
Thank you
Debra
Bill and I decided we should keep the note, and just ensure that she doesn't see it until years later.

So what did you leave under Debra Lynn's pillow when you took the note? Did you leave the tooth and also some money? Just curious!

Yes, we left the tooth and a whole dollar bill! There's been inflation since the years of a dime. Bill is the ordained tooth fairy. Once, when he'd neglected to award Timothy for a lost tooth, Bill left a note of apology under his pillow the following night with the prize money. That made Timothy a staunch believer in the tooth fairy until just recently. They all know what's really up, I think, but it's still fun to play along, and especially if money is involved.

That's what I thought you probably did for Debra Lynn. I can also imagine Timothy's excitement at finding the note apology!
